About the Event
While it may come naturally for many of us to have creative dreams and visions, focusing on a specific project (like designing a mural, writing a song, writing a children's book) and actively working towards its realization is a skill that can be developed through guidance and practice!
Out of this playshop, you will…
Design a creative project you can't wait to start!
Set yourself up for success by creating action steps that light you up
Connect with fellow artists and creatives that fuel you to dive in
Walk away with a clear visual map of your idea with clear steps forward
This is for you if you...
Have a difficult time picking a specific endeavor because you have so many!!!
Have a hard time staying motivated with your creative ideas
Get easily distracted and procrastinate on doing the things you love most
Out of this Playshop you might benefit from increased:
Confidence: Choosing to focus energy and time on expressing who we are is one of the most powerful ways to create confidence.
Mental Health & Wellness: Art gives our emotions shape. It gives our grief a place to go. It can move our doubt and worry to a place of awareness and wisdom.
Self-Love: Taking time on the things we love is a way to say to ourselves and our inner child, "I care about you."
Energy: When we take steps to do what truly light us up we fill our cups and prevent burnout.
Power: Learning the skill to take our ideas successfully into form is one of the bravest things we can do. We're truly standing with and for ourselves.
Joy: Imagine it's December 31st 2024 and your best friend asks, "hey, what made this year awesome for you?" Would you rather say, "I watched all those shows and did a ton of scrolling." What if you said, "OMG... I wrote my first song!!!" "I created a mural" "I wrote a children's book!?" Can you feel the joy? Not just for you, but for your friend, and all those you get to share this with?
This playshop applies to all forms of creative expression: writing, poetry, dance, painting, photography, fine art, music, mixed media.. you name it!

Why this?
Many of us live in a culture where arts and creativity are acceptable in pre-school and retirement. We accept that unless we've "made it" as a successful artist, we should focus on more productive endeavors. Yet, you know that your energy, motivation, joy, and overall purpose for living shine when your embarking on creating what you LOVE! You feel the most connected to the vital aspects of who you are.
We are social beings and so even if you know that working on that creative idea gives you that boost, its very likely that without structure or support -- it's not going to happen.
With guidance and skills, you can learn how to vision a project you love and map out so you can actually make it happen. You wont lose the original spark, I promise, it will only shine brighter because you're actually making it real.
How many of us, let the ideas we have fall away. By the end of this year, how would it feel for you to have steadily embarked on something you'll be proud to share with those you love?
This is not for you if:
There are times when our attention and energies are best spent tending to what life has perhaps unexpectedly put in front of us. Maybe you've just lost someone you love, or had a really overwhelming life event and you need to focus your energy on healing or grieving. Take that time... your creativity isn't going anywhere. It will be there for you.
